Marking Enemies is a fundamental combat mechanic that causes affected enemies to glow a bright blue, and if killed while the enemy is marked, they drop ShieldsT UI Tooltip Shield.png and Ammo.

The Mark Duration is based on the Crisis Level, as is the amount of ShieldsT UI Tooltip Shield.png dropped, and has the following values:

  • VR-Orientation: 10s Mark Duration, 10 ShieldsT UI Tooltip Shield.png dropped
  • Deep Dive: 6s Mark Duration, 6 ShieldsT UI Tooltip Shield.png dropped
  • Neuromancy: 4s Mark Duration, 5 ShieldsT UI Tooltip Shield.png dropped

Actions that can Mark enemies include both abilities for all Combat Shells, Grenades, and some Implants.

The Ammo dropped includes 1 ammo for the Primary Weapon, and 1 ammo for the Secondary Weapon. The Secondary Weapon does have limited ammo, causing Marking Enemies to be one of the primary ways to get ammo for your secondary weapon. The Primary Weapon on the other hand is reloadable with infinite ammo, so the ammo from Marking Enemies should be treated as a method to avoid reloading for the primary weapon, and an ammo source for the secondary weapon.
